The words you’ll meet.
- Nota simple
- An informative Land Registry extract. Read its date, property details, ownership and entries in context.
- Catastro
- The cadastral description of real estate. Its information and purpose differ from those of the Land Registry.
- Arras
- A deposit arrangement whose legal effects depend on the agreement and applicable rules.
- Escritura pública
- The public deed authorised by a notary. Read the terms and confirm the documents for your transaction.
- Valor de referencia
- A cadastral reference value that may be relevant to taxation. It is different from the cadastral value and the asking price.
- Comunidad de propietarios
- The owners’ community of a shared building or development, with its own decisions, costs and documentation.
